Its sounds like you're still using the 0.41 version from addons.mozilla.org. After opening the newest .xpi file with Firefox you need to close and restart the browser. This page shows how to place the button: realimaginary.com/hanzibar/Usage.asp#Button

I have exactly the same problem as jiuyen: I am having trouble with the "Google Translate this text" option off the alternate click. I get a message that says, "Choose a dictionary first." The Chinese/English dictionary is already loaded and dictionary lookup is working. It does not matter if I reselect the dictionary, the "Google Translate this text" function never works. It always asks me to choose a dictionary first. Is there some other way to choose a dictionary that I don't know about? I am running v1.5 on Mandrake 10.0 with Firefox 1.5.0.3. Otherwise, the program works well.

Hanzibar shows:
: 娜 娜 [nuó] /elegant/graceful/ (娜=0x5A1C) [M: NUO2 NA4 C: NO5] elegant, graceful, delicate
with the 2nd Mandarin pronunciation as NA4.
The last line is the single character definition from the UNICHIN dictionary. Lines before the last are (1 or more character) definitions from the CEDICT dictionary.
Thanks for the Wiktionary reference - might be useful.

When I download the zip file, it sends me a program that seems to open only as Netscape browser extension, where it is incompatible. It's suppose to be Firefox. What's going on?

Netscape might have registered the association with .xpi files more recently than Firefox. Don't let the registered association choose the program - do it yourself by running Firefox, then:
From Firefox: File OpenFile/ ... hanzibar.xpi

Hello, i'm not able to install the hanzi toolbar. After receiving the registration mail, i downloaded the zip file, unzipped it e double clicked (or File->open file) the install.rdf file. Firefox (1.5) opens but nothing happens. Blank screen.
Thank you!

I'm not seeing that in XP; it might be unique to Macs. Does the extra space remain as you resize the translation window vertically/horizontally? Thanks for the link to afpc.asso.fr/wengu/

The space does remain as I resize the window. It only happens with some words (like the word some (to Chinese)).
I also noticed that apostrophes aren't handled correctly. "It's" works but not much else.

The problem with: afpc.asso.fr/wengu/wg/wengu.php?l=Daxue&s=1&m=NOzh〈=fris that scripts on the page are conflicting with Hanzibar's. That site provides assist-popups for characters on many of its pages. If you want to see Hanzibar working on that site, you can disable scripts temporarily: Tools/Options/Content/(Dis)able Javascript.

Hi - I just registered, but didn't receive a REGkey. My email starts with my name (Conrad) followed by a number and a domain. Can you confirm that you got the payment? Thanks.
