Anyone know of a public Korean/English dictionary?
How much interest is there?

Hai, sorry for interupting you thru email earlier. I didn't know you own a forum. About the request on Korean/Hangul -> English translation, this is what I found so far that might be useful to you: www.uoregon.edu/~felsing/wired/generalindex.htmwww.johnwasham.com/koreanonline/dictionary.shtmlThe database of the first link are huge with Radical, Strokes, Total Strokes, Unicode, Variant, Pinyin, Korean pronounsation, Japanese pronounsation and Definition but it's not in EDICT format, so converting it will take a long time but I think is worth it. The second link is kind of an online translator which I think is the best of all that I had found so far but I'm not sure what kind of engine they are using, It's a pity that I still don't find any based on EDICT format after some many years. I'll keep on looking. Really wish your HanziBar can be CJK Bar.

All links to cjkdict.zip I see online are stale; I can't download it anywhere.
The second link is an online translator; I couldn't find any dictionaries to download ...

Miokawaii, thanks for your efforts. It looks like cjkdict only translates Hanzi characters (maybe Hanja), but not Hangul(한글). I found another Korean/English dictionary, but its too small to be of much use: www.gutenberg.org/browse/languages/ko

Sorry, I didn't check my email till yesterday. The CJKDict package might be a modified version. I do not have Microsoft Office software so I didn't checked. Sorry if it doesn't help. The Korean/English dictionary @ www.gutenberg.org/browse/languages/ko is really quite small, probably 10% of www.uoregon.edu/~felsing/wired/generalindex.htm only. Do you have any plan to do a full conversion from any source? It will take alot of efforts but I'll help if you need it. I'm still digging around for more option/source. Guess it's not easy trying be make a first full CJK translator.

Sure, I'll work with any good, public Korean dictionary!
But again, the GutenBerg dictionary is too small to use...

Thanks a lot for creating a great extension. I am wondering if I can suggest a feature?
It'd be nice if the sidebar could also display the *pronunciation* from Japanese (kanji, hiragana, and katakana) to English, in addition to the translation which Hanzibar is already doing. I think it'd help a lot of people, like me, still trying to memorize the symbols and learning how to speak Japanese.

I am sorry. I should've posted my comment above in the "Suggestions" thread, I am stupid.

From what I can see on Wikipedia: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kanait looks like adding that would be pretty straightforward in a future version.

Hello! Thanks for considering my request! I suppose, though, that trying to display the pronounciation of kanji would be much trickier, as a kanji character may have multiple pronounciations depending on the context. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kanji#ReadingsWould the task be easier once the kanji is converted to ruby characters? en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ruby_character

Miokawaii, if you can find me a good public Korean/English dictionary to integrate into HanziBar, I'll register you in the paid customers database! Registration for the forum is different than buying a HanziBar Registration Key

I have got one pretty large English-Korean. It was under GPL few months ago. I saw you were talking about the cjk.zip file from the page that does not work. Do you have this file? I need entries with more languages so I can add Korean into my Universal dictionary at www.dicts.infoZdenek / Dicts.info / resvol2(_at_)volny.cz
