No, that info should be persistent.
Are you having to do it every time?

How soon can we expect this to work with Firefox 1.5RC3 and final?

The 1.0b version at realimaginary.com/hanzibar is already compatible with RC3 and should work with 1.5 when its released. Same for the Limited Version 0.41b version at bottom of that page. I think I'll wait until 1.5 is released (someone told me around the 28th) to update the version at addons.mozilla.org.

How do you post a message? Could only find new threads and replies. I have tried twice to pay for the software but is says that I have gone over time (or equivalent expression). thanks

Click on a member's name, then 'Send Personal Message'. PayPal times out after inactivity for 5 minutes or so; about how long it takes me to find my wallet/credit card I can't help much with problems you're having with PayPal - I don't see any of that. You might try their support. In the future I might have alternative payment methods.

I expect you're seeing this when loading the Japanese dictionary in the Limited Version, or either dictionary on a slower machine.
The Japanese dictionary is huge and takes awhile to load. I put a progress meter in later versions to avoid that warning, but its harmless even in the older Limited Version - you can just tell it to continue the script.

The link on my page is an .XPI file (FireFox extension) zipped into a .ZIP file. First extract the .XPI from the .ZIP file using any number of archive programs available, like Winzip, PKZip, 7Zip, etc.
Then use FireFox itself to load the .XPI extension as described before: File/OpenFile ... hanzibar.xpi.

I've noticed that Hanzibar sometimes won't read the first Chinese character in a line of text no matter where you place the mouse, it will only show the second character onwards.
Does anyone else have this problem?

Fixed in version 1.1a Wasn't the first character, but with phrases containing characters only in the UNICHIN dictionary (ex: Shenzen 深圳).
